Our story

Ecstra Foundation is a grant making charitable organisation committed to building the financial wellbeing of all Australians within a fair financial system.

Money matters. Ecstra is creating and supporting more financial education in schools, catalysing community led financial capability, funding consumer care initiatives focused on advocacy and regulatory reform, and measuring and sharing insights.

We work with partners in communities, schools and other learning environments to map, design, deliver and measure financial education initiatives that help build individual financial literacy, capability and confidence. We also support consumer organisations in their work to address the many structural barriers to financial inclusion and economic security.

Our flagship program, Talk Money with Ecstra Foundation is the largest face to face financial literacy program offered in schools across Australia.

Our initial funding, provided through the Community Benefit Payments scheme, means consumers are at the centre of our work. Ecstra worked as part of the Federal Government’s National Financial Capability Strategy.
